The common materials of cold forming springs can be divided into the following types according to the different heat treatment processes after forming. Anhui Zhongteng Auto Parts Co., Ltd.
The first type is a material that does not require quenching and only needs stress relief annealing after the spring is formed. This kind of material is mainly to strengthen the steel wire, there are carbon steel wire, piano steel wire, spring with stainless steel wire and all kinds of oil quenching and tempering wire.
The second type is the material that only needs aging treatment after the spring is formed, such as beryllium bronze wire, spring element alloy, etc.
The third type is materials that are subject to quenching and tempering. This type is mainly annealed and hot-rolled materials, such as hot-rolled spring steel wire, silicon manganese spring steel wire, chromium vanadium spring steel wire, chromium silicon spring steel wire, etc.
With the development of metallurgical industry and the continuous improvement of spring performance requirements, in order to reduce equipment investment, reduce production costs, shorten the production cycle, improve product quality and economic benefits, from the design and manufacturing should be selected after forming only stress relief annealing materials to manufacture springs, that is, the first type. The material that must be quenched and tempered after winding and forming, that is, the third type should not be used as much as possible.
After forming, the second type of aging treatment (hardening and tempering treatment) is more used for springs with special requirements, such as corrosion resistance, weak magnetic, conductive and other occasions.
